Update No. 4

We have finally come up with the final ideas for our teaser trailer. We have had many ideas and many drafts of our story boards. We have chosen to incorporate everyone’s ideas as we all had opposing ideas.

We photocopied everyone’s original ideas and then cut out the ones which we all agreed on, and out them into a order which we could work with.

Our next step will be to make a script and to cast the characters.

Story Boards

During the stage of coming up with ideas, we made our own story boards with rough ideas, and then we kept developing our storyboards until we came to our final piece.

At first, we all provided ideas for the story boards and how we wanted the final product to look. Each of us went away and tried to show in a story board, what we would initially like the ending result to be.

Every member of the team came up with their own story board, to incorporate everyone’s ideas we mixed up all of the story boards and then came up with a final idea. The final story board did not seem clear, so we had to draw up another, which was clearer; however the final ideas include everyone’s thoughts and ideas.

Thomas:This is my original story board; it contained a mix of our original ideas as a group so everyone’s idea was used. I put in the shot numbers, and transitions that you would find on any story board.It gives a rough outline of what would be in the trailer, however at this time we didn't know how long it would be exactly and if there would be any changes made to the trailer.

Bronagh:

Here is my original idea for my story board. With everyone having different thought tracks, it was hard to integrate every single idea onto the storyboard, as there is only a limited amount of time the trailer can be.

While meeting and talking about our ideas for the story board, our ideas where initially the same when we had our group discussions. However, drawing up the ideas in terms of a storyboard, our ideas changed as we saw visibly whether we thought it would work or not. Inevitably although we all had the same thought track, all of our ideas came out drastically different. Reason being for incorporating all of each others ideas and creating a final story board.

Caroline:

Here are my story boards which i did for the group. The aim was for me to try and incorporate all our discussions of what we wanted the trailer to be about. In the trailer we have the main protaganist which will be a female villian. in the beginning of the trailer we want the name of our production team to be up whihc is ` Dark room productions'. In this story board i tried to present a variety of camera shots, such as a close up etc. Although we all suggested ideas together when we all came together to present our storyboards we all noticed that our work not all the same. We came with the idea that we will then all combine all our ideas together to create a final story board.

Update No. 3

Today DRP had a meeting and thought of some ideas for our movie. Our aim is to create a teaser horror trailer and we aim for it to be in the sub genre of 'thriller'. We watched some films at our weekly meeting. Some of the films include, ‘Amusement’, ‘Amityville Horror’, ’13 Ghosts’ ‘The Bone Collector’ ‘Asylum’ ‘The Human Centipede’, ‘Cabin Fever’, ‘Black Christmas’. Although some of these films didn’t fall into our category of the genre we are aiming to make, we need to have an insight into what other films in the horror genre have. We are aware that there are specific guidelines on making a particular genre of film, however there are some conventions we need to be aware of in a thriller film.

Today DRP had a meeting and thought of some ideas for our movie. Our aim is to create a teaser horror trailer and we aim for it to be in the sub genre of 'thriller'. Today we took the still images for our introduction of our media coursework. This is to introduce the members of Dark Room Productions. This is so the audience know the faces behind the company.

Although our passion is to create world class movies within the genre of Horror, we have a dynamic approach, our sister production company ‘Dark Productions’ who specialise in Film Noir, comedy and drama movies.

We have certain aims that we comply to whilst in the production of a film;
